Meet Our Team

Dr. Michelle Nelson, BSc, DVM

Dr. Michelle Nelson graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, in 2000.  After graduation she returned to her home province of British Columbia and began practicing at a companion animal hospital in Maple Ridge. She joined the staff of Sunshine Hills in 2004 and has been a valuable member of our team ever since.  Dr. Nelson shares her Langley home with her husband Jake and their two cats, Havoc and Mayhem. When not at work Michelle spends her time at the barn with her horse Taran as she is an avid horseback rider.

Dr. John Gillott, BSc, DVM, (Practice Owner)

Dr. John Gillott moved back to Nova Scotia with his family, but still owns the practice. He is entrusting that his staff will take great care of his practice while he is working on his current clinic.

Nikki, Receptionist

Nikki joined our team in September 2002 after completing the Veterinary Assistant/Reception program at West Coast College. Among all the duties of a full time receptionist, Nikki particularly enjoys the interacting with the clients and their pets and getting to know them over the years. Nikki spends her spare time with her husband Jon and 2 young sons Brody & Riley.  Her fur babies include a bulldog named Donkey Kong and 2 cats Oskar & Diego.  She also likes to read and do crafts (crocheting, knitting, sewing, painting, drawing etc.)

Valerie, Receptionist

Valerie joined our team in July 2003 as a full time receptionist. Valerie moved to BC from Nova Scotia with a brief stay in Ontario (20 years) and now resides in Delta.  When not at work Valerie enjoys going to movies, hanging out with her sister, and spending numerous hours with her German Shepherd Thunder.
